Hi, I am Gayithri. I turn AI ideas into dependable business solutions.
5+ years of backend engineering. Now solving real AI problems.
- Need RAG assistants that answer real questions — not hallucinated ones?
- Want chatbots that handle real requests without breaking?
- Looking for automation that cuts real manual work from your team?
- Need an engineer who bridges backend reliability with modern AI?
About me
I help teams turn their data and existing systems into AI that actually works — RAG assistants that answer real questions, chatbots that handle real requests, and automation that cuts real manual work.
With 5 years of backend engineering experience at Walmart, Oracle, and VMware, I bring production discipline to AI development. After my early career in enterprise engineering, I took an intentional career break to raise my family, while actively upskilling in the later years — then returned to tech in 2025, hitting the ground running as a Software Developer at Walmart, before transitioning fully into AI engineering. I build with Python and FastAPI, and I'm focused on building reliable AI your team can depend on. I completed a rigorous, production-focused AI Engineering program at Datalumina where I deployed end-to-end AI applications with RAG, vector databases, and LLM orchestration.
What I work with
-
AI & LLM Engineering
RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), LLM Orchestration & Evals, PydanticAI, LangChain, MCP (Model Context Protocol), Langfuse for observability.
-
Backend Engineering
Python, FastAPI, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, GraphQL, SQL/PLSQL — built for production from day one.
-
Data & Infrastructure
PostgreSQL with pgvector, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana monitoring, GitHub Actions CI/CD.
-
Engineering Practices
Pydantic for type safety, agile SDLC, AI-powered tooling (GitHub Copilot, MCP server, Qodo merge), automated testing.
Experience highlights

Frequently asked questions
What types of AI projects do you work on?
I focus on practical, production-grade AI: RAG-based assistants that retrieve and reason over your data, chatbots integrated into existing workflows, and automation pipelines that reduce manual work. I specialize in making AI reliable — not just impressive in a demo.
What is your tech stack?
My primary stack for AI work is Python, FastAPI, PydanticAI, LangChain, PostgreSQL/pgvector, and AWS. For LLM observability I use Langfuse. My backend engineering background also covers Java, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes.
How do you ensure AI outputs are reliable?
I implement LLM evaluation frameworks (evals), use Langfuse for observability and tracing, apply Pydantic for strict type safety, and design RAG pipelines with careful chunking and retrieval strategies. Reliability is a first-class concern, not an afterthought.
Do you have backend engineering experience beyond AI?
Yes — I have 5 years of backend engineering at companies like Walmart, Oracle, and VMware. I've led system migrations, performance optimizations, and feature development in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
Are you open to full-time roles or contract work?
I am currently open to both. Feel free to reach out at gayithri@pojoai.com to discuss your needs.
What is your educational background?
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Sri Venkateswara University College of Engineering (2008), and completed a production-focused AI Engineering program at Datalumina (2025–2026).
